Our Program

HOC Academy offers a secure and comfortable place for your child to play and learn what they need to know as they grow, providing the stepping stones along your child’s path to success.

They may forget what you said, but they will not forget how you made them feel.

The Cornerstone to Quality

Communication

Effective two-way communication makes it easy for you to keep track of your child’s experiences and their accomplishments, and for us to meet their individual needs. We document daily interactions and activities and communicate them to the parents.

The App: Brightwheel

Our school has many modern security and technology systems in place. We record your child’s days in writing as well as electronically. With our software, Brightwheel, you receive instant updates throughout your child’s day, updates you can respond to. We are eager for your input as parents so that we can better meet your child’s individual needs.

Individual Portfolios

Another proof of “best practice” is your child’s individual portfolio. Our teaching team will work collaboratively to develop a unique portfolio for your child that they will keep as they grow. The portfolio will contain observations about your child as they achieve milestones and experience new things. There will be photos and completed developmental assessments for you to enjoy as well. The portfolio is yours to keep upon their graduation from HOC’s Pre-K or Kindergarten program.

HighScope Curriculum

The HighScope Curriculum is designed to provide a rich academic foundation while promoting independence, decision making, cooperation, creativity, and problem solving in young children. In a HighScope classroom, children are guided to explore, interact, and exercise their creative imagination through purposeful play. Active learning is at the center of the HighScope Curriculum. It’s the foundation of young children gaining knowledge through their natural play and interactions with the environment, events, and other people.

What They Say

Our Happy Parents

“Our son started at HOC when he was 6 months old. We have always had great relationships with the staff in each classroom he’s been through. He is now 4 and attends both HOC and the local public school for Pre-K. They tell me at the public school that he is more than ready for Kindergarten. HOC not only provides great childcare but they start teaching letters, sounds, numbers and shapes early on! We made the right choice 4.5 years ago and are very grateful for a safe place for our son!”

“House of Children is a true blessing. From the moment we reached out they have been incredible to work with. We looked for a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for our children. Not only do my little ones love going here, we love it too. The teachers and administrators are an extension of us as parents as our partners. They communicate daily via pictures and imortant notes and care about our children’s milestones. With HOC I feel connected to my children even when im away and know my kids are always loved and cared for. Your child will flourish at HOC!”

“I have had my 2 children in HOC for close to six years. My daughter began at 18 months, and my son at 6 years old. My daughter has grown up with the staff here, and I couldn’t be happier with the care and education that has been provided to her over the years. The administrative staff is always amazing with answering questions, keeping parents informed and putting the children’s needs and happiness first. The staff/teachers have ALWAYS welcomed my kids with open arms (literally, all the hugs). I would recommend this facility to ANYONE that is looking for part-time, full-time care or even just for their summer camp program.”
